Q: How does FlexPrep™ support food safety and product quality? 

A: Food safety is paramount. FlexPrep™ pouches are hermetically sealed and designed to eliminate cross-contamination during transfers. There’s no need for sharp tools to open them, which also improves workplace safety. Plus, the system prevents air exposure during application and storage, which extends shelf life and ensures consistent freshness and flavour with every portion. 

Q: Can you tell us more about the materials and equipment involved? 

A: The pouches are made from CRYOVAC® brand rollstock barrier film and feature a proprietary frangible seal for clean, reliable dispensing. They’re available in sizes from 290 to 710 grams, offering flexibility for different kitchen needs. These pouches are produced on CRYOVAC® vertical form-fill-seal machines, and the dispensing units, available through Franke Foodservice Systems, are designed for ease of use and compatibility with various sauces and dressings. 

Q: Sustainability is a growing concern in foodservice. How does FlexPrep™ address this? 

A: Sustainability is at the heart of FlexPrep™. By switching from rigid to flexible packaging, operators can significantly reduce their environmental footprint. The system minimises primary packaging and post-use waste, while also improving shipping efficiency.
